Meet the Director

Hi, my name is Lora Monsac.

I’m a dreamer, storyteller, writer, director, production manager, and event planner. For many years, I simply carried ideas in my heart and imagined what it would be like to bring those ideas to the stage. Today, I’m grateful to be living out that dream.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Queens, New York, I developed a love for music and the performing arts at a young age. I always enjoyed watching drama, acting, music, and live performances, and I dreamed of one day being part of a production myself. I had the opportunity to perform in a show at my church, and I immediately fell in love with being on stage.

But my journey wasn't always easy.

Writing and grammar were challenging for me, and I struggled with confidence when it came to speaking. I was very shy and often afraid that people would make fun of the way I spoke or communicated. Because of those insecurities, I eventually put my dream of acting aside.

But one thing never left me—music.

Over time, my desire to create, write, and tell stories only grew stronger.

After years of battling my fears and insecurities, I finally took a leap of faith and wrote my first stage play, Time to Come Home, in 2002. The production was a major success and became the beginning of a journey I never imagined would lead me here.

With over 15 years of experience in theater and music, my creative journey has spanned countless productions and opportunities to serve in various creative and production roles. In addition to writing and directing, I have worked as a production manager and event planner, bringing together the many moving parts required to create meaningful and memorable experiences. My creative journey also includes serving as script supervisor for the released short film Not Enough.

Today, I continue that journey through my production company, Blessed Stage Productions, where I am blessed to create original productions that combine storytelling, music, drama, and faith.

Now, I boldly return to the stage with Chains—my second musical stage play. Chains is a bold, faith-filled story that brings powerful characters, music, and real-life struggles to the stage. It is more than a production; it is an experience that I am honored and excited to share with audiences.

My vision for Blessed Stage Productions extends beyond producing stage plays. I believe the arts can inspire, empower, develop, and create opportunities within our communities. One of my greatest dreams is to establish a community arts center in honor of my father, Thomas Monsac.

My father was a music teacher and vocal coach who generously shared his knowledge and passion for music with others, teaching musical instruments and providing vocal coaching to many people for free. His love for music and his willingness to pour into others left a lasting impression on me.

Through Blessed Stage Productions, I hope to continue his legacy by creating a space where music, acting, and dance can come together—where young people and aspiring artists can discover their gifts, develop their talents, build confidence, and have the opportunity to express themselves creatively.

What started as a little girl with a dream has grown into a vision.

I may have once been afraid to write.
I may have once been afraid to speak.
I may have once walked away from acting.

But God had another plan.

And now, I’m here—writing the vision, directing the story, managing the production, creating the experience, and bringing it all to the stage.
